Natural gas powers the Australian way of life
From heating our homes to cooking family meals, gas is at the heart of our every day.
Aussie natural gas is indispensable for manufacturing our necessities: fibres for clothes, fertilisers for food, even components that make our phones and laptops work.
In 2021–22, our gas sector added $121 billion to Australia's economy and supported over 258,000 local jobs.
A secure future depends on gas
Without natural gas, the lights go out, industry grinds to a halt, and families are left struggling with crippling energy bills.
Australia’s east coast will face significant gas shortfalls by 2027 according to the ACCC – meaning higher prices for everything and reliance on expensive imported foreign gas from unstable regions.
Generating a greater share of our energy from Aussie natural gas will reduce emissions, while providing stable power 24hrs a day by ramping supply up or down, whenever we need it. It’s that simple.
